I counted, there are 70 school days left till graduation, 69 if you count senior ditch day =( Everything's moving so fast that you want to do a lot of things before you graduate but things just keeping coming up to keep you from doing it. All I'm doing right now to prepare for graduation is to think about it. I do remember last summer when I was working the class of 01 graduation as the new senior men and women and how, after hugging and seeing all my senior friends who were leaving, I was telling myself "I can't do this next year!" Well, it's comin' It's probably even harder for other people than it is for me, since even the friends I've known the longest, I've only known since end of fifth grade, while a lot of people I know have known each other since kindergarden and maybe even before that, judging by the buddies in diapers --> buddies in letterman jackets pictures I'm seeing in the yearbook ads. But still, this is what I fear most about graduation. It will be hard to leave home, but your family will always be there and you'll always (have to) stay in touch. Friends don't have the blood ties. I do swear and believe that there are some people whom I will always stay in touch for the rest of my life, but for many other people at school whom I currently talk to, I also know that I'll probably never see them or talk to them again after graduation until maybe a 10 year reunion, when we'll be all awkward and try stupidly to strike up conversations. A lot of stuff I'm reading right now about graduation and college is that most adults rarely keep contact with their high school friends, and that really saddens me. To myself reading this in college, GO CALL UP YOUR OLD BUDDIES OR I'LL KICK MY ARSE! A lot of things that had a chance to happen won't, hawaii, cancun, bleh. While everyone's kickin it during spring break, I'll be sleeping in the same motel room as my parents in Pennsylvania and have to put up with my annoying cousin(s) in Boston. My grades are slipping like a tumbling skier, I got my first sub-50% test since my ESL days, but the thing is, I can't get myself to freak out or anything. It's just, "eh, I did bad, I'll work on it more next time, now where's the remote control?" Senior year used to look so magnificent and magical when you're a lowly freshman, but now that you're here, it's somewhat overrated. Yes you do rull over the school and part the sea of lil freshies automatically when you walk through, but with that you get a lot more crap to worry about. I know it's good to have stuff to worry about, you're grown up, you're an adult, you got responsibilities now; but once in a while I still want to be the lil careless freshie getting lost on campus. I remember at 8th grade promotion party I told Carolyn next year we'll be back at the bottom of the food chain, and she said it's good because it's less pressure and responsibilities. I can see her point now. Wow I wrote a lot today, better stop. Thursday, February 28

This week is soo tiring! I haven't even started on homework and I'm dead tired already. Plus Sunday morning I have to go volunteer at friggin LA Marathon. I didn't want to go, but SOMEONE ditched out on me and I can't let the lil new prez go by herself, so yea, tva first! I got my selective service registration card today. grrr. So I went online to register, but after I typed in all the stuff, it says my SSN isn't in the database and I have to send in the paper card. BUT THE CARD TOLD ME TO DO IT ONLINE!! I can't even get myself shot right. I got linked online to all the admitted M&T people, they all seem really cool and really friendly, unlike the reports I've been hearing from other people. I'm feeling a sense of community already! Wednesday, February 27

I'm finally 18! I have yet to receive Mr. Collin Powell's letter. The gifts were very thoughtful and nice. thanks a lot! Bought a lottery ticket =) Someone said "you should've been 18 a long time ago." I dont' know if it's a compliment or not. I have to go work on my giant chem lab now. As usual, copy/steal w/o understanding the stuff, get screwed on tests... Monday, February 25

I've been listening to a lot more graduation songs lately...I feel like I should be doing something now to preserve the memories and do stuff I haven't done before, but every day there's always stuff that comes up and makes me think "I still got a few months left." I know I'm gonna regret doing this.... Well I AM saving up to buy a digital camera around April to take pictures like mad after Spring Break. Don't you hate it when you think you're having a deep talk with someone, you tell them how you're feeling, and expect them to talk back but instead they just run away? =( O yea, Uranga has officially declared my idiot-ness Girl from her 0 period class leaving class: O hi Leo! congratulations on making upenn! me: oh..thanks =) Uranga: what happened? me: um, I got into upenn... Uranga: O good! You must be a pretty smart kid then...I didn't know that! I'm not gonna let her get to me....i'm gonna take it as a challenge >=) Sunday, February 24

proctoring the mock SAT today was not as fun as I thought it would be. I guess i just didnt have the heart to torture the already tormented lil sophomores and juniors. I did use the time to finish lysistrata, and tomorrow's the notebook meeting. yea today was a boring day not much to talk about |
