My whole body is sore....I haven't felt like this since the day after prom. oi. Yesterday whenever I'm not in class I was running and tackling in the snow, maybe that had something to do with it. Ouch, going to sleep now. Thursday, December 5

IT SNOWED TODAY!! I woke up to a view of the world covered in white. I didn' have class until 12PM but I walked around campus, in my stinky down jacket, frantically took a bazaillion pictures...I built two snow men today, threw a million snow balls at other people. We eventually ended up just standing by the upper quad gate and hitting whoever random person that entered. the flakes are huge, and they feel so good when they fly into your mouth and melt...I don't think I've seen this much snow in my entire life. I made snow angels in 10 inches of snow. Then at night my hall went to the Kimmel Center for a Philadelphia Orchestra concert. We got these student seat-filler tickets that cost $6 and we suppoesdly sit whereever there's space, but since its snowing, no one went, so we got seats that usually cost like 90 bucks. This is one of the best days of my time at Penn =D Tuesday, December 3

Thanksgiving was AWESOME. I rushed through morning classes and picked up Alison from izy at noon then took her to yummy dining hall lunch, then I took her to my class to show her what a Wharton class is like. She thought we talked to much =P Then afterwards I dropped her off to Izy again and left to center city to do my presentation to Red Cross, then walked back (about 20 blocks) to campus to take a physics midterm, then came back to find Angela and everybody in Mandy's room. The next day we went out to Geno's Cheesesteaks (I got Pat's though), then Italian market, Olde City, Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, we saw one of the 17 surviving copies of the Magna Carta, then snuggled pu in Cosi to hot cocoa and chai. Then we walked around South Street, finally we found this cool little italian restaurant and had dinner there. Came back, went to pick up Kelvin from the train station. I called for a Penn shuttle van to take me to the station, and on the van was this random penn guy that was going home, so he has blue eyes and blonde hair, so we talk and when he found out I grew up in China, he started speaking PERFECT mandarin to me! Man, that was my Penn moment of the month...this place does have smart people eh? Anyways, found Kelvin after a little cell phone mutal homing (after both our cells died earlier it came back online later), I can't believe I gave him a hug in the station, I don't think I've ever hugged him in the 6-7 years we've known each other...o well. Took him back to campus and we all went out to the new theater to see Harry Potter, halfway through Fred came in with Issac, who just arrived from Duke. Kelvin stayed here for the night and left for his dad's in Harrisberg the next day. I dropped off Alison and Kelvin at the station, then I really felt like walkin', so I went to city hall to catch the end of the Philly Thanksgiving Parade, then I walked from City Hall to Penn's Landing, all by myself, with not much people on the streets, and past independence hall, carpenter's hall, the bourse, etc. It was really cool, and I took the subway back to campus. For Thanksgiving dinner I went to Fred's church's dinner for homeless stray people like me who can't go home for Thanksgiving. I was probably the only non-Korean, non-Christian person there, but it was still fun just to be with people on Thanksgiving, plus I learned a few Korean group games. On Friday morning we took the Chinatown bus to NY. We arrived at Anny and Lucy's dorm at NYU around 12 noon, and the girls were just waking up, so it took them about 2-3 hours to "get ready," so Fred, Issac, and I just sat on the floor like bums tossing a inflatable globe around the room, knocking things over here and there. After the girls finally got ready, we went to Serendipity, yes, the same place where the movie was filmed. It was a three hour long wait, so we put our names down and went to CPK next door (I didn't know New York had CPKs, but it was good to taste home) after CPK we went to Serendipity and had the best dessert ever, frozen hot chocolate....mmmmmmmmmmmmm. After Serendipity, we walked around the mothership Bloomingdales then went back to NYU. The girls went clubbing (or at least thought they were), and the guys went to visit Shelly, we waited on a street corner for them, and turned out she was across the street, and kept starring at us, wondering if those big and tall people in coats and hats were thugs or friends. So after we got together, we had Gray's Papayas (2 hotdogs AND a papaya juice for $2.15, what a deal!) then went to a bookstore, thinking we can find a place to sit down in, but we ended up sitting on the floor. It was fun. Then we went back to NYU, the girls haven't left yet, and they tried to convince us (well, actually tried to convince mostly Fred to go with them, sidelines Issac, and probably looked at me once) to go clubbing, but Fred declined (skillz!). So the girls left for clubbing and the guys found our way via subway to Time Square. It was really bright and had a lot of people. Just like in the movies. Walking in the middle of Time Square, I get a cell call from Mandy, telling us that Angela lost both her Cornell ID and driver's license and so they couldn't get into the club. So we took the subway back to campus to meet them all bummed out. They re-readied themselves and we went this little Mexican restaurant in Greenich Village and had dinner around 1AM. This table next to us was a bunch of guys who had these drinks in shot glasses that had flames on top....it was really weird. Anny got a little buzzed afterwards and Mandy spilled half a cup of mai tai on my pants, fun! Finally, we went back to the dorm again, people scattered across the floor, someone started "The Ring," I think Angela was the only one that was watching while the rest of all dozed off. We (the guys) got up around 4AM to catch a 5AM train from Penn Station back to Philly. I got back to Penn campus around 7AM, fell in bed, didn't wake up till 5PM. This was probably the most memorable Thanksgiving ever. |
